We think you’ll appreciate the home-baked taste of these mouth-watering squares. We make them in the same old-fashioned way that your grandmother did (and that her grandmother before her did) – from scratch, using the finest of local ingredients wherever possible. Like our flour. The flour used in our Maple Nut Squares is ground from red winter wheat, obtained from a local operation, the Nitty Gritty Grain Company. Our eggs are free range and also locally sourced. Our maple syrup is tapped just miles from our bakery. Our butter is made right here in Vermont, too. Once these local ingredients are added to form our batter, we toss in handfuls of walnuts, brown sugar, and vanilla. The end result, we think you will agree, is quite extraordinary. From bite one, you’ll be hooked!
