Using farm fresh ingredients that are sourced whenever possible from local businesses, this teacake is made with tender loving care – and lots of good “stuff.” We start by taking flour that has been ground from red winter wheat from the Nitty Gritty Grain Company, selected for its high protein content and the way it adds a moist crumb to our baked goods. Next, we crack open free range eggs grown on the Sunshine Acre Farm in Hardwick, Vermont. To that we add fresh butter from our friends at the local Cabot Creamery. But we’re only getting started! We pile on the cranberries, grown locally, of course, and top that off with almonds and currants from Buffalo Mountain Co-op. And finally, we add just the right amount of orange emulsion and almond extract before baking your Cranberry Almond Teacake to sheer perfection, ready to be devoured once it arrives at your door.
