Serving Suggestions
Our Lemon Berry Teacakes are a satisfying treat that is perfect for serving any time of the day, year round. These cakes are the perfect accompanying treat for tea, coffee, or a tall glass of milk, and can be enjoyed by both adults and kids alike. Serve our Lemon Berry Teacake right out of the package, or slice it up and warm inside a 350 degree oven for four or five minutes, or for 15 seconds in the microwave. The rich aroma of berries and lemon when the cake is warmed just adds to the ambience as you enjoy the cake.
For an elegant and simple desert, you can top our Lemon Berry Teacake with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream or sliced fresh fruit. Your favorite sorbet is a delicious addition to this cake. For an added sweet treat, add a bit of fresh whipped cream to this teacake.
Ingredients
Just like every cake or baked good that goes into our ovens, we put a lot of work into making sure that our products are the best they can be. To us, this means starting with farm fresh ingredients, which is why we go with locally grown suppliers whenever possible. For starters, our cakes begin their trip from mixing bowl to oven with flour that is ground from red winter wheat, produced by the Nitty Gritty Grain Company, right here in Vermont. To that, we stir in butter from the local Cabot Creamery and free range eggs, harvested from a local farm. Next, we toss in handfuls of blueberries, cherries and currants, and just the right amount of lemon juice to tie it all together, then a pinch or two of freshly ground cinnamon from our local co-op before baking your cake to perfection in our farmhouse ovens.
We mix our Lemon Berry Teacakes in small batches to make sure they are fresher than fresh when they arrive at your door.
This Teacake food gift contains the following ingredients: blueberries, flour, sugar, butter, milk, eggs, currants, water, cherries, lemon juice and zest, cinnamon, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
