We start our recipe with flour that we buy from a local Vermont company, Nitty Gritty Grain. This flour is ground from red winter wheat, beloved for its moist crumb and high protein content. To that, we add in butter that we source from a local dairy operation, Cabot Creamery, and free range eggs from another neighboring farmer. Our cake batter is given its rich maple flavor from real maple syrup, from Maplehurst Farm, right here in Vermont. Next, we throw in handfuls of fresh pecans, dates, currants, and golden raisins, with just the right amount of farm fresh milk and sugar. To that we blend in a heaping helping of tender loving care before baking your Maple Pecan Teacake to perfection in our farmhouse oven, and then sending it on its way to its final destination – from our door to yours.
